Паразитолог Роберт Дезовиц написал несколько популярных книг о паразитах, рассматривая их с более медицинской точки зрения, чем я в данной книге (см. Desowitz, 1983; Desowitz, 1991; Desowitz, 1997). Основательный учебник по паразитологии (из тех, что снабжаются эпиграфами из Хантера Томпсона) можно поискать у Робертса и Джанови (Roberts & Janovy, 2000). Краткий обзор эволюции и экологии паразитов можно найти у Пулена (Poulin, 1998). Марк Ридли рассказывает о результатах полового отбора, в том числе и о гипотезе Черной Королевы (Ridley, 1993).
