1. Данные за 1994 год показывают, что каждый житель США в среднем ежегодно употребляет 25,1 кг растительного масла, что соответствует 618 калориям в день. Данные из таблиц на сайте USDA говорят, что в 2014 году потребление растительного масла выросло на 170 процентов по сравнению с 1995 годом. Если предполагать, что в 1994 и 1995 году масла употребили примерно одинаково, то при подсчете данных за 2014 год мы получаем, что каждый житель США в среднем потребляет 1000 калорий в день из растительных масел. Калорийность рациона каждого отдельного американца, естественно, может быть очень разной, но, по оценкам 2015 года, среднестатистический американец съедает 3600 калорий в день, а худые американцы – от 1700 до 3000 калорий в зависимости от того, насколько они активны. Оценки для потребителей, заботящихся о своем здоровье, основаны на личном опыте: большинство таких потребителей готовят дома, поэтому меньше подвергаются воздействию растительных масел.
